Caitlon’s Louisiana Bridal Session

If you have heard the rumors, we can verify that they are true. Buie Photography has been blessed with an absolutely wonderful assistant for the past four years.  She wasn’t just amazing at her job – which is awesome enough, trust us – but she really was/is like a younger sister to us both. So, when we found out that Caitlon was engaged and would soon be leaving us, we went into a little bit of a depression. There were tears. It happens. But we quickly realized that this meant we would get to have a Louisiana Bridal Session with one of our favorite people ever! So we got to work doing what we do.

We love bridal sessions!

For those of you that don’t know: We love bridal sessions! Can you hear us in the back? Yes? Good. Because we need everyone to know.

Bridal sessions are an amazing Southern tradition that we just can’t get enough of. If you are looking for stunning portraits that really and truly reflect how you feel in your dress – you know, the dress you’ve probably dreamed about wearing for half of your life – then this is where those happen. Trust us, there is nothing like a Louisiana Bridal Session!

The Mansion at Red Hill

Caitlon was getting married at the mansion so that’s where we decided to shoot her bridals. We’ve shot there before and the staff has always been super helpful and very accommodating for anything that we want to try. We definitely recommend taking a look at their page, which you can find here.

Caitlon was still getting ready when we arrived so we took the opportunity to whip up a few mimosas – because that’s how we roll – and double check our equipment. When we got our first look at her dress it took our breath away! And we HAD to get her on their huge entryway staircase immediately!

Up next was the bathroom in the master suite. The lighting and the colors blended perfectly with the look that Caitlon wanted. Plus, there’s a four foot deep master bath. Yes, it really is that deep and it’s worth the price of admission. The master bedroom at the Mansion is also available for the bedroom and groom to stay the weekend if you are interested. And if you read that sentence about the tub, then you probably are.

There are so many locations on the inside of the mansion that it is easy to lose track of time and never even make your way outside, but we had plans for that veil! We just can’t resist a veil drop.

We’d also like to take a moment and personally thank Mother Nature for playing a pretty key role in the shoot. She definitely blessed us with a gorgeous sunset. We think you’ll agree.

Thanks for everything, Caitlon!

Some blog posts are harder to write than others. Not because you don’t know what to say, but because you have too much. So we will just have to leave it at this: Thank you SO much, Caitlon! Thank you for everything! We are so thankful that God placed you in our path and we wish you a life filled with adventure, great friends, and overwhelming love. Thank you.
